Purpose and Summary
Provide an age-appropriate curriculum for a designated age group. Provide support to children and their families when needed. Perform a variety of duties related to the classroom and annual programs.
Qualifications:
Head Teachers must have 9 to 12 academic units in Early Childhood education. They must be in the four core classes, child development, child family and community, theory, and one academic course such as language and literacy. Possess knowledge of licensing standards for preschool and can implement them in the classroom. Able to maintain confidential information regarding preschool families, communicate in a positive and effective manner when speaking with families.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
| 1. | Plan all classroom activities and carries out the curriculum standards set by the Director. These will include special programs throughout the year.
| 2. | Maintain a clean and organized classroom, follow all licensing standards that apply to the classroom. Maintain children's portfolios.
| 3. | Always communicates with co-workers and families in a professional manner. Use the remind app and Newsletters to inform parents of upcoming events or special notifications.
| 4. | Attend staff meetings and seminars led by the Director. Complete training required by the state. Online training such as Child Abuse Mandated reporter training as well as CPR, first aid, and Pest Management training.
| 5. | Report all supply and maintenance needs to the Director.

Accountabilities
Informs Director of special needs a family may have. Is responsible for relaying any classroom changes to families via newsletter or remind app. Maintains open communication with the Director about staff, classroom needs, or concerns.
Compensation: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
